Arbor Clothing

Arbor clothing comes to us (Tassel & Teeter) or you, how ever you want to put it, from Venice CA. Home of the good life some would say. Arbor clothing appeals to not only those who snowboard and skateboard but those who also embrace that lifestyle. Arbor's collection brings a lot of abstract/earth/alternative free living feel to their clothing and we like that. You should too.

The search for funding

So far, funding has been the biggest hurdle Ive come across while trying to get this company off the ground. But now things are on the upswing. I've connected with two designers who agreed to a drop shipping agreement, and have saved up a small amount of capital to start purchasing small quantities of clothing. I should be receiving more inventory within the next week or so. Again, if any of you out there design, or know of anyone who designs, clothing, jewelry, or anything that would fit with Tassel & Teeter please let me know. Well that is all for now, hope everyone had a great weekend.

Special Blend Clothing / Apparel

Thursday's = Wahoo! Not sure why that's great. One thing I do know that's great is coming across a clothing company called Special Blend. These guys/gals embrace action sports to the fullest. Special Blend comes from Irvine, CA. Special Blend has a full line of both men's and women's clothing from tops to bottoms. We really like how their collection all ties together from men's to women's clothing.

Bells and Whistles

Today has been dedicated to adding some bells and whistles to Tassel & Teeter. I've added some customized buttons to really tie the whole site together along with some promotional banners added to the home page that will showcase new and featured products. After adding these little updates the site is really starting to come together. On a traffic update it looks as though my organic traffic is still rising and now Tassel & Teeter has been visited by 34 countries and 33 states from the U.S., all without any paid advertisements.

Organika Clothing. Oh how we want thee! Oraganika Clothing comes to us from .......? Organika clothing really brings together the art, earth, and organic element in their collection. Organic is a tuff sell, but no with designs and styles like these. Organika! If your reading this, pelase contact us - we dig your threads.

Things are looking up!

Well I must say this weekend was a success! Tassel & Teeter had its first sale ever! Thanks to a lovely lady out on the east coast for making that happen! It's really quite surprising that the order came though since I haven't done any advertising yet. It appears that my organic listing drew the sale which rocks! That means no cost to get the customer. Seek the help of friends

So now that I'm in hot pursuit of filling my store with new clothing and accessories on a budget I thought I would look to my friends, and my friends, friends to see if anyone designs their own clothing or accessories and sure enough I have found two companies right here in Omaha. Both of these companies are willing to provide small quantities of their collection at no cost to me unless they sell. Thats Great News! That means I can focus my financial efforts on marketing rather than initial inventory! I've always heard that people and companies love to be apart of something new and most of the time they are willing to work with you. In this case, I have found two GREAT companies that believe in my efforts. What a great feeling this is! It gives me new life and hope into my project. I guess I could put the word out there and see if anyone reading this knows of a clothing company that would like to get some exposure and be apart of a new business. If so, please contact me. Well thats all I have for now. Have a great weekend!

Sub Skin Apperal - Kiteboarding Clothing

Sub Skin Apparel is something fresh that came across our MySpace page this morning. We like them because we rarely if ever see any clothing focused towards the kiteboarding industry. Its a fresh new feeling when these companies come up. Sub Skin Apparel is based out of Florida but I think were gonna try and bring a little taste to Omaha real soon.

On a Budget

Alright, so if I'm going to open up a clothing store I'm gonna need some clothing right. If you've read my previous posts, you can see that I have began researching clothing and accessories companies that I would like to carry in my store. Great, now what. The fun thing about this adventure is that I'm attempting to build my inventory with little to no money at all. My first thought was to form a relationship with companies and try to get them to dropship for me. That way, I'll need no start up capital for inventory and I could focus what little money I have on marketing the site. Well - that did not work. I got one bite from a company but they later backed out. So it looks like I'm back to square one. Some how I've got to build up inventory with very little $$. And when I mean little I mean $100 here and $100 there, every so often. Wow.....this is going to be a challenge.

The Begining

Today I woke up with a crazy idea. I should start writing about my experiences of starting a clothing boutique/store. When I say write about my experiences, I mean everything from my lowest of lows to my hopeful highest of highs. My initial thought on this ideas is that it could go extremely bad letting the readers and customers know everything that's going on with the store for example if the store is not making any profits will my customer base abandon my efforts. I've decided to forge ahead with my new idea and hope that my readers will embrace what I'm trying to accomplish. Who knows, maybe a budding entrepreneur looking to start their own shop could learn from my experiences.

Now keep in mind I'm not abandoning my initial efforts of showcasing new and exciting clothing companies, I'll still continue to do so, however I will also be letting you know some insight into the joys and pitfalls of starting a new business. So grab a seat and follow along as I try and make Tassel & Teeter a success.
